What size bird print works in a hallway?
Hallways are viewed from close range, so a tall vertical piece in one of the narrower widths works better than anything wide - 8"x24" (20x60cm) or 12"x36" (30x90cm) on a tight wall, 16"x48" (40x120cm) where there is room. Measure the wall at its narrowest point and take about two-thirds of it.
Should a bird print hang at eye level?
More so than most artwork. A bird gives the print a focal point, so it rewards being seen properly. Centre the piece around 145-150cm from the floor, or slightly lower in a room you are mostly seated in.
Do bird prints suit a modern interior?
Depends which. Vintage ornithological plates read traditional; Japanese-inspired crane and heron studies and simple line work sit comfortably in a modern room. The treatment sets the tone far more than the subject does.
What is the difference between bird and animal wall art?
Animal covers wildlife more broadly - hares, dogs, horses and others alongside birds. Birds is the collection to start with if that is specifically what you are after.
Which rooms suit bird prints best?
Hallways and stairwells, where you pass close by and the focal point earns its keep, and kitchens and living rooms where a wading bird or a flock over open ground lifts a plain wall. The quieter studies also work in a bedroom.
