Does photography work well as a panoramic canvas?
Unusually well, because so much photography is shot wide in the first place. A landscape has room for its horizon, a skyline stretches end to end, and architecture runs the width of a wall rather than being cropped to fit a square. The elongated format matches what the photograph was framed to show.
Is photography on canvas better than a framed print?
Canvas gives a softer, matte result with no glare, which suits a room with a lot of natural light or downlights. A classic frame gives crisper edges and a more formal, gallery-like finish that suits detailed architectural or monochrome work. For a large piece, canvas is also considerably lighter and easier to hang.
What photography subjects are in the collection?
Architecture and structural detail, wide landscape and mountain photography, coastal and water scenes, and cityscapes by day and night - in both colour and monochrome. It is a small, deliberately curated range of 30 pieces rather than a stock library.
Where does panoramic photography work best in a home?
A living room or home office wall, where there is space to stand back and read the detail, and hallways for tall vertical architecture shots. Monochrome cityscapes suit a study or office; colour landscapes and coastal work suit a living room or bedroom. Avoid hanging detailed photography somewhere you only ever see it in passing.
What size should a panoramic photograph be?
Large enough to hold its detail - 20"x60" (50x150cm), 24"x72" (60x180cm) or 30"x60" (75x150cm) for a landscape or cityscape above a sofa or bed. The fuller sizes suit photography particularly well, because more depth on the wall means more of the frame survives at a readable scale. Photography loses more than painting does when it is shrunk. Below 16"x48" (40x120cm), choose a simpler composition.
