      Een hoog, smal canvas doet iets wat een vierkante print niet kan: het trekt de blik omhoog, waardoor een laag plafond hoger lijkt en een smalle wand een duidelijk focuspunt krijgt. Het is de natuurlijke oplossing voor de ruimte naast een deuropening, de wand langs een trap, de plek tussen twee ramen of een smalle schoorsteennis.

      De stijlen variëren van Japandi en minimalistische neutrale tinten tot opvallende botanische en Japans geïnspireerde prints. Elk werk wordt op bestelling gemaakt in verschillende formaten, als opgespannen canvas of in een zwevende of klassieke lijst van zwart, wit, eikenhout, walnoot of goud, en wordt klaar om op te hangen geleverd.

      What is vertical wall art?

      Vertical wall art is any piece taller than it is wide - portrait orientation. Our vertical canvases run from 8"x24" (20x60cm) up to 24"x72" (60x180cm) hung the tall way, with a fuller 16"x32" (40x80cm) and 20"x40" (50x100cm) where a wall can take a little more width. All of them are made for narrow walls, stairwells, alcoves and the gap beside a doorway, where a wide print simply will not fit.

      Does vertical wall art make a ceiling look higher?

      Yes - that is its main advantage. A tall, narrow canvas pulls the eye upward and makes a low or standard ceiling feel taller than it is. The effect is strongest when you hang the piece slightly lower than you might expect, leaving more clear wall above it, so the eye has somewhere to travel.

      What size vertical wall art fits a narrow wall?

      Measure the wall's width and choose a piece that leaves 4-6in (10-15cm) of clear wall on each side. Most narrow walls between a door and a corner take 12"x36" (30x90cm) or 16"x48" (40x120cm); a stairwell or double-height hallway can carry 20"x60" (50x150cm) or 24"x72" (60x180cm). If in doubt, go taller rather than wider - height is what a narrow wall has to give.

      Where does vertical wall art work best in a home?

      Stairwells and staircase walls, narrow hallways, the strip of wall beside a door or window, chimney breast alcoves, and the space between two windows. It also works either side of a bed or fireplace as a matching pair. The common thread is a wall with more height than width - exactly the spaces standard frame sizes leave looking bare.

      Can you hang vertical wall art above a bed or sofa?

      You can, but hang two or three as a set rather than one alone. A single tall canvas above a wide bed or sofa leaves large gaps of empty wall either side and looks under-scaled. Two 12"x36" (30x90cm) or 16"x48" (40x120cm) panels hung 2-4in (5-10cm) apart fill the width properly while keeping the vertical lift.

      I love the quality and styling of the print, I was unsure about buying something so big without seeing it but I am very happy with the product. The colours are true to the image and the effect with the floating frame is perfect.
